Hood Hinge Spring R&R 200

84 245 Ti... needs a replacement drivers side hood hinge assembly, which I found at local pick and pull. Getting the spring off wasn't easy... big screwdriver for prying and scratched metal and paint on the donor car.

What's the technique for removing and installing the big spring? Hope to have an easier time of it when removing/replacing the hinge on my car.
