Need a reverse detent pull rod for M46 tranny 200

I tried posting this to ALL but got no results so I'll try again here on just the 200 forum.

My son has a manual, M46, transmission in his '86 240. Today the "reverse detent pull rod" inside the shift lever broke. This rod is the newer type with the square opening at the top which connects to the detent ring that you pull up on to allow shifting to reverse. I haven't seen it but he says it looks like plastic.

My question is where can one find a replacement? Any sources out there?
