Transmission change from AW55 to AW70 difficult on '79 242. Help, no holes? 200 1979

Hi guys. I really am stuck. I found a nice AW70 tranny for my daughter's '79 242. Her car has a AW55 3-speed which has done what it came here to do and then some, but, alas, no more. I want to switch it out as so many on this forum have suggested. BUT, unlike later frames apparently, this '79 does not have the predrilled and threaded holes to put the longer tranny in. This frame is the square "tubular". I thought I read that there was a fairly easy way to do this but I can't remember how. My local mechanic will do the switch but... Help? How do I do this? I do not want another AW55.
