SU's vs. Strombergs 140-160

I would be interested in people's views/experiences on the relative merits of a twin SU vs. twin Stromberg setup .....

By way of background - my 1972 142S has twin SU-HS6 carbs (in pretty good condition). The car has "other issues" however, and I am getting rid of it, having just found a 1974 model 142S in REALLY good shape for very little money - its too good to pass up. It is fitted with twin Strombergs.

I am tossing up whether there is benefit in putting the SU's on the "new" car before I sell/scrap the old one. ("The boss" says I can't have both of them ... and I dont have the space anyway !!)

Note - fuel economy isnt an issue ... but drivability, throttle response, reliability, tunability, maintainability etc are ... my skills are limited !!

Also - are the manifolds the same (ie. can I just swap the carbs over without swapping manifolds as well)?

Any thoughts welcomed !!
