instrument panel weirdness 200 1990

'90 240 205k aw-70,
driving along today the speedo dropped to '0' and the service(not check engine) light flickered at the same time.It did this a couple times(and I think it will keep doing it).I pushed the service reset button but that didn't help.
It may have something to do with my alt./voltage regulator because recently if I have a lot of accessories on the lights flutter.The battery is showing 13.7 volts at idle.
How are the service light circuit and speedo connected?
