Hmmmm, good point there. It's an automatic... but I should check if it is in park.

I eventually caved in and had a friendly mobile volvo specialist come and help me for $30-bucks. He made quick work of it with the proper dambed tool! I lacked the patience to try to find a rental shop around town with the proper type, or order if from JC Whitney.
