CHK ENGINE is On. Can't retrieve the code S90-V90 1998

Correct, my OBD2 laptop software will not detect or reset a code from the transmission module. However many of the auto parts store such as Auto Zone will read the code for free. They use a small handheld Actron unit that will read tranny codes and reset it if the guy is so inclined. Some of them think it is illegal to reset it even though it isn't. If for example it is a PNP switch code, once the problem is corrected and does not get detected again the code will eventually reset itself after so many "trips".

I have a chronic PNP switch problem that happens occasionally, havn't gotten around to replacing it yet. If it does not occur for a while the light will reset after about 2 weeks of driving with lots of trips.

What software are you using?

Stay clear of the bloody dealers unless you have no charge warranty or recall work.
