instrument panel dies? 200 2002

Your system isn't charging. Check that the thin red wire is connected at the alt and that the thicker blue short wire below properly grounds your alt. to the block.

Generally if the brushes were defective the alt light would be glowing (while the engine is running) IF the red and blue wires are properly connected.

Before starting car, key in II position the alt light should be on indicating proper connections.
