Brief hesitation on initial acceleration 200 1993

Hi. I just bought another '93 240DL, and it has only one (hopefully little) problem.
On initial acceleration (e.g., pulling from a stop sign, or out of a toll booth), it has an initial, momentary hesitation, as if I had lifted off the gas pedal for a fraction of a second. After that, though, it pulls strongly throughout the rpm range.
The hesitation is quite consistent and predictable (repeatable) -- it is very brief (half a second or less) and always at the start (e.g., ~one car length from where I started out) -- but it is unmistakable, and I'd like to clear it up. My other '93 has never done this at all -- in fact, none of my other 240's ('84, '83, '80, or '78) have ever had a problem like this.

Any advice or suggestions on where to look?

In advance, thanks to all.
