tail light assemblies 700 1990

I bought an aftermarket unit from a compny that advertises here in the BB Classifieds section. At first I was happy with it - fit fairly good and looked like the original. But then ..... About two weeks later we were out for brunch on Mother's Day. It was quite warm out and the sun was beating down on the rear end of the car. We came out to the parking lot to go home and the lense was hanging down below the bumper, dangling from a strand of the black goo stuff that is supposed to keep it attached to the reflector piece.

I took it home, cleaned off the old adhesive, and re-attached it with silicon. It has been OK since, but I don't know for sure how well I've got it sealed.

Once again, I cheap-out and pay the price for not buying real Volvo stuff. When will I learn?!
