here's how you do it. 700

As you know there are two 10mm bolts holding the distributor on. Loosen both of them, just enough to turn the distributor.

Now, with the timing light hooked up to the #1 cylinder, slowly turn the distributor and watch the timing mark change to about 12degrees BTDC. Just aim for a little to the left of the 10 degree line.

Once the timing is where you want it, tighten whichever bolt you can get to first, shut the engine off, then tighten the other one.

Restart and verify.
