Can't open door 200 1983

Alrighty, so I've tried everything I can think of, and I still can't open the driver's side passenger door on my 244. It's probably something simple, but I can't fix it if I can't get to it. The problem is that I can't get the door panel off to get to the innards of the mechanism.

I've tried taking the bolts out of the hinges on the b-pillar to loosen it up, with limited success - I still can't get to the bottom clips however. And I don't want to break/destroy the door panel, so finding something long enough but thin enough to enter the inside of the panel through the small opening is proving difficult.

Any ideas out there?
