Trans slip shift 700 1987

Say;
Anyone have an idea why the transmission, ZF hp22 in my 87 740 starts to slip shift 'after' the oil gets good and warm, not overheating, usually after 20-30 minutes of running.
It performs like new, shifts and runs fine when the oil is cold.
If it were the clutches wouldn't it slip shift a little when cold or does the cold oil make such a difference?
Thanks, L Smith
