sunroof wind deflector - how to remove 700 1991

I am about to replace the headliner in my 91 740 wagon. This will be the 4th headliner I've done, but this is the first time I've had a car with the big plastic wind deflector on the roof (as opposed to the 2" metal deflector that raises up when you open the sunroof).

I need to remove the plastic wind deflector in order to get the sunroof panel out. Upon first glance it looks like it is being held on by 2 metal brackets that are fastened to the roof. However when I removed these brackets the deflector was still firmly attached to the top of the car. I don't see anything else holding it on, and I'm hesitant to try to force it.

Is this glued on, or just being a little stubborn? Any tips to remove it (in one piece)?

Thanks!
