thoughts on relocating OD switch

hey now!
For some reason Volvo folks are closely related to MG people somehow. Anyways I was reading up on MG's and some fella somewhere relocated his OD switch to a corner of the gas pedal that way when you shift gears with the clutch and gas, the revs come safely down and the OD is engaged when you stepp on the gas. NEET huh? I have the M-46 and I was wondering if anybody had any thoughts or experience relocating the OD switch. I want to mount mine in such a way that you have to depress the left horn button on the steering wheel inorder to engage it. Are there any wiring concerns? Is it true that the OD has a sensor that tells it that the tranny is in fourth gear? I think this would be a nifty way to improve the driving experience because my shift knob keeps popping out and at any rate, I like to hang onto the gear lever in turns and stuff which sometimes trips the over drive switch. Thanks Y'all
