Steering Rack interchangability 900

Hi everyone,

Is it possible that the steering rack for a 90 744T will fit a 96 964? The rack in my 960 is toast since the PO ran it out of fluid. When I bought the car the dealer replaced only the pump and now the rack is rattling and there are two big dead spots at 11 and 2 positions. I want to just swap out my brand new 740 rack into the 960 if its possible.
