Since you asked, here's my spin on eBay parts. It's simply a matter of supply and demand. If you are under the impression you are indeed getting Volvo parts in excellent condition at lower than commercial rates, or finding something that you feel is no longer available, then you'll pay the price. Like all auctions, the desire of the seller is that there will be a high demand, hence a buying frenzie for the part. Some parts, especially NOS will incrementally make your Volvo appear better than you already have. This may be important for the purist or equate to extra points in a judged event. Although I have found some really excellent parts for my Amazon, I think eBay has reached its critical mass. It's virtually impossible to bid against people with deeper pockets than I have. Also, I've noticed the use of "sniping tools" that make any honest attempt to win at a decent price impossible. One thing that eBay has done for me is to open other doors so that I can buy the parts I need at decent prices and make some new friends while I'm enjoying my hobby. I'd hate to tell you how much I paid for a "takgöken".
