stalling - hall sensor 700 1988

I posted a message yesterday about the car stalling in the first two minutes, and the responses i've been getting is that its the hall sensor. So the hall sensor comes with the distributor cap then correct? Well its funny b/c I changed the distributor cap, rotor, etc. and my mechanic said that the distributor cap (which is not bosch) that is in there does not work good with volvos and he warned me once it began to get cooler that it will have problems when starting the car. Can that probably be the reason why that the hall sensor is acting up b/c of the distributor cap i put in is not the best make? I have heard that you can't put just any kind of parts for tune up... is this true that u have to put bosch, bougicord parts on for tune up?

thanks
