Fix or Replace (nostalgic story included) 200 1982

I never thought the day would come when I would consider getting rid of my 240. But alas... the tires are bald, tranny leak, and showing her age after 23 Wisconsin winters.

I purchased the car for $1,000 4 years ago and although I have spent nearly $3,000 in upkeep over those 4 years / 85,0000 miles: tires, exhaust, radiator, brakes, shocks, susp bushings, belts, seals wiring harness, injectors, fuel pumps, and religious changing of air, oil, fuel filter, cap rotor, plugs, etc... she has never ever let me down.

But, like I said, she needs: new summer tires..like 5k ago (i have snows), leak @ overdrive housing gasket, rear main seal leak, front suspension re-bush, struts and ball joints, rust at every door corner, and major rust where vertical trunk sheetmetal meets the bumper. Not to mention major floor pan rust on passanger side. I completely rebuilt the driver side floor pans a year and a half ago.

On top of it all, we are expecting a baby any day. I would love to fix all this stuff and keep on driving. Maybe I'll keep it as a winter car?? Or sell it to a fellow brickster. In the mean time I am looking for a 95 940 in super shape thats ready to go. (my wife drives a '93 945 and we love this car)

Right decision???? I sort of have an emotional attachment to this car, so I guess I just need some help in getting rid of it.

Thanks to all.

Matt - 82 240 - 180,000
