Jumped Timing 700 1986

Vehicle: 1986 760 turbo (B230FT)

I think it's jumped it's timing. It's got a new belt in it (maybe 10k on it) I can't be sure yet, as I haven't taken the time to tear EVERYTHING out again so I can have a good look, but it appears to me that while at TDC, the cam mark is out of alignment with the mark on the cover by about 1 tooth ( it's behind)

The car's idling terribly, (around 500 RPM and hunt/surging).

It run fairly well on the road, though a bit sluggish, and very noisy (tappy)

Should I be examining the timing closer (don't have a light so I'll need to take it to a shop to have them check it out for me) or should I look in other places first?
I've already done a quick run over the vaccuum lines and electrical connectors/wires to be sure they're all there and fitted and in decent shape, and pulled the plugs out, none of which seem fouled.

THanks in advance.
