help with 164 E 140-160 1974


I'd guess that an early 240 gas tank would fit a 74 164 in a pinch.
It may not, but with a hammer I wouldn't be surprised. The front
suspension bits are specific to the 164 but I udnerstand you can
replace the whole kit with a 140's front suspension -- swapping the
crossmember may be the way to go here depending on how much stuff
you broke. If you got all 4 wheels off the ground, maybe the motor
mounts are broken from the landing. The rear suspension has some
stuff (springs, mostly) that can exchange from 240 to 140.


I'd actually be surprised if you really broke more than tie rods
or ball joints, besides the now leaking gas tank that is. The
tie rods / ball joints probably needed to be replaced anyhow.

Have fun with your new brick, but not quite that much fun...
