M40 / M41 crossmember differences 140-160 1972

I read that the M40 / M41 are not the same.
What was different on the crossmember? I'm getting close to initiating the M40 to M41 swap into my 144 and thought I had everything covered. I thought the crossmembers were the same. Pretty sure they are for a BW35 and M40.
Can a M40 crossmember be modified to fit the M41? Arg! Always something.

If Matt is out there, any chance you can post a picture of the overdrive stalk switch that I inquired about a couple of weeks ago? I'd like to see where the factory cut the steering column cover before I butcher mine.

Thanks
