Replacing Hi-Pressure P/S hose 200 1978

Pinpointed the source of my big P/S fluid leak: the high pressure hose has torn. I've ordered a new hose. (Boy, those things are expensive...)

The installation looks fairly straightforward...but a pretty tight space to work in. Still not sure how I'm going to get the old hose disconnected from the rack, or the new one attached. I can see the fastener/fitting, but reaching it will be a challenge. (My P/S resevoir mounts above an A/C compressor, so it's a long way down to the rack.) I'm thinking maybe a socket with lots of extenders, to reach all the way out of that tight space.

Very interested in tips/tricks from those who've done this job.
