Loose plate illumination light 200

One of the bulb holders for the rear license plate illumination light on my sedan has become loose. I can sometimes get the whole thing to stay in its place within the metal hole, but usually when I get finished driving I discover that it's fallen down again and is dangling just by the power cable.

It looks like the rubber around the edge was probably glued to the bulb holder, and then that was glued to the body of the car. However, the rubber has gotten old and the glue has disappeared--like I said, it won't stay by itself anymore. What can I use to get the bulb holder to stay in its place? Is there any particular household glue that one might suggest, or do I need to go to an automotive supply store for the glue? I don't think a heavy duty sealant is needed, as I've never had problems with water in *these* lights.
