Window antenna not powering up 900

I have a 1995 940 wagon with the amplified antenna in the rear window. I usually get static only. Occasionally it will get a signal, when it does the unit will operate fine until you turn the car off. Signal strength is not a problem.

Is the problem in the radio or the antenna? I have an old radio I can install but if the problem is in the antenna I will have to put in a mast type. Has anyone had experience with this problem? Thanks in advance.
