Help!! My 940 is not right UPDATE 900 1991

Ok guys,

Firstly many thanks to spook, steve and anarchyx34 for your help. I should really have checked the thermostat (its always the simplest things).

I have replaced the thermostat today (cost £10 total) it took me an hour, but that included cleaning the thermostat housing and cylinder head because it had corroded a little. Now my 940 gets to the correct temperature quickly and stays there (woohoo!!!). I replaced it with a 92C thermo because winter is coming.

Now for my next problem, my earlier post mentioned rough idle, but i forgot to mention that if I increase the revs to 1500 and 2000, it misfires slightly and the revs drop and pick up again, then it repeats. It also hesitates whenever pulling away from lights or junctions, it kind of lacks power until it reaches 1500/2000rpm after that its fine.

I have cleaned the throttle body a few times now, every time there was a dirty oily residue on it. This was coming from he damn engine breather, and it happened even if I cleaned the breather, so I plugged the inlet on the intake bellows and plugged the hose on the manifold side and left the breather tube open. and its been clean ever since.

Not long ago, I took the IAC valve off and had a look at it. In its closed state, it let a little air through, the valve had to be turned just a little to completely close the valve off. Is this normal?? or is it defected? I still haven't tested the throttle switch, but I will on wednesday.

Cheers everyone
