If you end up having to open the system again, I recommend you also install a "smart VOV." You can google for it to get a description. It's an upgrade over the stock orifice valve and folks here will tell you it really helps in stop and go traffic. It's around $25 and, if the system is going to be open anyway, doesn't take long to install so labor should be cheap.
