Transmission problem 700

My opinion- get an AW 70 or AW 70L (lock up torque converter) at a junkyard and put it in. I got one for $250 and paid an independent Volvo mechanic $225 to install it. I also bought $60 worth of seals, etc. at dealership. Total cost: $535 and it works fine. I don't trust rebuilds, seems like you pay a lot of money and can still have problems down the road. You might want to check and/or replace the following items as needed during your swap:
• Tail shaft bearing
• Tail shaft seal
• Torque converter seal
• Transmission pan gasket
• Transmission filter-screen
• Shaft seals, one each side
• Mount for transmission in crossmember
• Rear main seal
• Universal joints
• Carrier bearing and its mount
