Questions on my new used 940 900 1994

Had the car for only 5 hours, and I am already having questions:

1. I did an oil change this evening. The filter simply won't come off. I ended up driving it with new oil/old filter. I have a strap type filter wrench which does not seem to work for lack of room. Any tricks?

2. Whenever I changed into R or D, the car will jerk backward or forward while the idle speed is only 800rpm. I was suspecting engine mount or transmission mount. Are they the cause for the jerk?
