Prop shaft/axle groaning - where to start 200 1985

Upto 40 mph, my 240 drives normally, then the groaning and vibration starts, gets worse to about 55mph (vibration coming up from the rear through the floor), then calms down after 60mph. Most comfortable at 70mph/2500rpm - any more and the dash starts vibrating too, and any less and the groaning kicks in again.

I have visually inspected a few times and see nothing out of the ordinary; I need some tips on what to look for. Any ideas??

Thanks

Neil
