Replacing clutch slave cylinder again. 700

Hello
I purchased my 1987 744ti in the summer of 2001 and replaced the clutch slave in the fall of 2002. In the past week the slave failed again (leaking fluid, torn boot, and projecting spring). Looking back at reciepts the PO also replaced the slave in the fall of 2000 with an entire clutch kit. Does anyone know of something which would cause these failures or am I getting bad parts? It seems odd that the original slave would last 13 yrs and the next two would die after almost exactly two years. Thanks for any help with this.
