clutch adjustment on 240 with five speed / How depressing 200 1990

I have been shopping around for a 240 with a standard transmission. I have tried 2 240s with approximately 150000 miles showing. Both are 1990s with a 5 speed transmission .One has had the clutch cable recently changed and the contact point is very close to the floor when one depresses the clutch pedal at about two third of the way down. On the other one, it is the reverse : the friction point is only one third of the way down so it is quite high. None feel like what I remember from my 245 which had a four speed with overdrive which I drove for seven years until ten years ago when it was in a crash at 70 000 miles. Everything else being equal, what car should I prefer clutch-wise.Is there a possibility that the new cable on the first car is simply not well adjusted ?
