Questions about the Crank bolt/'rope' trick 200 1980

Still working on this timing belt for my '80 245 DL with an M-46.

Haven't been able to work on the car because of a lack of time, but I'll have all day tomorrow to hopefully finish this thing up.

Anyhow, my questions are pretty simple.

First off, what size is the crank bolt? Highest socket I can find around here is 19mm, and it's too small. It looks like it's 22mm to me, but I'm not certain, and I'd rather not spend $4 for a socket that doesn't fit.

Secondly, does the crank pulley tool that IPD offers for the b-230 work on a b-21? I'm assuming it does not since they don't offer it for the older engines, but I figured I'd ask anyway.

And finally, for the time being, how much rope should I use for the "rope" trick?

Thanks as always.
