Hi/Lo-Beam Foot Switch... 120-130 1967

Hello All:

1967 Volvo 122S Wagon. The hi/lo-beam footswitch is acting unpredictably. Currently it is in the lo-beam state and gives me no problems. When I try to switch to hi-beam: sometimes it works, sometimes it stays in lo-beam mode, and sometimes (big problem) it cuts out the headlights all together. The switch is also very "sticky"; sometimes it depresses and returns fully and other times does not. There is no correlation between the full/non-full depression and the resultant behavior of the switch.

I am about to explore the beast but my Klymer manual makes to reference to it. I have no diagrams, nothing. Can anyone offer insight as to what the problem might be, how I might fix it, and if the fix involves switch removal, the best way to execute?

Thanks in advance for the advice.

Cheers,

Jeff Pucillo
