AW 30-40 doesn' t want to kickdown?? S90-V90

Since of late, my tranny has decided not to shift down from third when I come to a stop. It happens quite frequently now which is worrying me. I do have a bad PNP switch, but I don't think that's causing this as it sets a different code 1-2-2 every time the flashing lights occur.

The other code is 1-4-3, according to the faq is " Oil temperature sensor circuit, open circuit" I took the car in to the indi Volvo shop and they say 1-4-3 is "short circuit to ground in kick down switch circuit and I should replace this. I always checked the ATF level after turning the car off but the indi place had it on when they checked the level and said it was overfilled, if this was the case why is is doing it now and not before, its the same level, I'm a little confused.

Thanks for any help

VHT
