m47 not going in to gear easily 200 1987

I installed a new clutch in march and the last couple of months it has been harder to shift in to gear some times. I am wondering if this is more likely to be due to an imporperly adjusted clutch cable, or if it would possibly be low on gear oil, or could this possibly be something else. Is it reasonalbly possible to check the gear oil with out jacking the car up, I looked at the possibly of doing so today and it didn't look like too much fun. I am at school and don't have a jack with me.
