Car starts and immediately stops. Crank it again and it runs just fine. Culprit.. ? 700 1985

If I leave my 1985 740 GLE Non-Turbo idle for more than a day and then start it up - it starts instantly, but then immediately dies. If I then crank it up again, it starts instantly but this time will stay running. (Today it died twice after 2 instant start-ups before it stayed running).

Could this be loss of pressure remaining in the Fuel system ? And could this be due to a bad FPR, Fuel-Check valve ? How about a vacuum-line leak leading to no vacuum in the reservoir ?

Any other ideas ? I've NEVER had this problem in the 8 years I've had this car - it always started right up, even if I left it idle for a month.

Thanks !

Noel
