trouble starting and when flooring it 700 1990

When my 740 turbo has been sitting for a few hours, I have to turn the key a few times before it starts. Sometimes it putters and the whole car shakes but after giving some gas starts to run but with a slow idle. Also when flooring it, sometimes the car hesitates then takes off with a jerk. The dealer said it probably isn't the injectors and tried to convince me to replace the fuel pump and the rpm sensor first (without a guarentee that the problem will be fixed). Anyone have any ideas what is going on?
