Rear bushings - How hard a job is it? 700 1985

Hi all:

I am thinking about refurbishing the rear axle on my 85 740 turbo. How hard is this to do? I had a shop do the front end as it was already in getting some other stuff done. Are there special tools needed? I see IPD has a package for all the poly updates, and I wanted to see what you all think. A buddy said he had his done in a shop and the parts alone were $900 and another $1,000 for labor. Is this the same job that IPD sells the kits for?

Thanks,

JCM
