Hard Start 240 200 1992

I have a 1992 240 with 125,000 miles. This morning the car just would not start. Engine cranked over quickly, but would not fire. Being a somewhat experienced Volvo owner, I suspected the fuel pump relay (the white box behind the dashboard). I tried putting an old one in (not sure if it was working or not). Anyhow, I did not feel a "click" from the relay when I turned the ignition on.

Finally the car started right up. I shut it down, had one hand on the relay and stall did not feel the click when I turned the ignition on, but the car started right up.

Any opinions? Does it still sound like the relay? What else should I check?

I would really appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.
