91-93 Windshield Conversion on 83 245 200 1983

Hello all,

I have heard some things about converting the windshields of older Volvo 240s to the style of the 91-93 models. I have an 83 245 that is in desperate need of a new windshield. However, I know very little about this conversion. Can anyone shed some light on this for me? What all is different? It is better, right?

Also, I need to do some rust repairs underneath the old windshield. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to approach that? I have never done any body repair behind a windshield and am wondering what steps I should take to ensure a proper repair.
