1979 242 gt dilemma...sorry long post 200

"Ask and you shall recieve..." Well I've always wanted a gt, and now two are for sale at the exact same time...wierd. Even more strangely, both over 200k and in such similar (visable) condition you couldn't tell them apart save for a sunroof. They are nothing to write home about looks wise, dull paint/ primer, a little surface rust here and there, interiors okay but cracked dashes and messed up driver's seats. Car A, a 1979 gt, brand new tires, recent brake work, blew a head gasket a few days ago, lost coolant but didn't overheat. Shifts and stops fine. Would have to be towed from Monroe, WA to the water and across Puget Sound to my place by car dolly. No cracking in block/head. It's $200 as it must be moved from gas station or owner will have it impounded. Original clutch but still works. So how much cash/work is involved for a head gasket? What other problems should I be looking out for? Can it be towed in neutral, without disconnecting the drive shaft? Car B...not too different. My mechanic friend (owner) will get it up and running for $500 (He borrowed the Radiator for another car, will replace with used one) 500 get it running/driving/shifting, but it has been sitting and if it needs any brake work, that would be extra $ or for me to deal with. It has a sunroof (yay)but it needs a new seal. The tires are shot. It's been sitting for almost two years. It has a sweet Che Guevera-esque decal of Bob Marley! That's also asking to get pulled over. So, spend $200 on car A, $100 getting it home, Whatever work it needs, tomorrow afternoon picking it up, and one day doing head gasket/timing belt? Or Car B, $500 + tires + sunroof seal + (maybe) brakework. I would feel less secure about car A, too many unknowns. Plus it would be nice to have B, less of a project. I just can't bear to let A go for parts or worse, scrap. Volvos are getting to be like stray puppies to me, they all need love and good homes. Anyways let me know..thanks in advance for the advice.
