Pilot Bearing Fell Apart-Can't Get Outer Race Out 200 1981

1981 4-cylinder: We just pulled the tranny, clutch and flywheel. The pilot bearing fell apart. Now we have just the outer race of the pilot bearing still in the crank. The inner race, ball bearings, and grease shields are on the bench. The only thing left to get out of the crank is the pressed in outer race. Any ideas on how to get it out?? Is a slide hammer available to grasp such a small edge in such tight quarters? Help, please!
