Radio static part II 700

I am an idiot! Don't ask me what happened with "Radio static" ...I don't know!

Hi all,

I usually listen to NPR on the AM band. I have been getting static that will go away when......get this, I open the passenger side window and put it up again.

I thought that a long life of hard living had finally taken it's toll, but I have had this verified by others and they are as mystified as I am.

Today, I discovered that the static starts when I apply the brakes. If I open and close the front passenger side window, it goes away.

Later, while trying to figure out the "lamp out" light, I found that if the ignition key is in the start position, I get static. In acc (position II), there is no static.

My first thought was that it might be ignition related, but there is no change with engine speed. My thinking now is that it might have something to do with the in tank fuel pump. Is there a ground or something that I could check related to the pump?

I am at a loss. Any help is welcome.
