Flame Trap Replacement 200 1981

This is a 2 part question kind of:

1) What engine do I have if i have an 81 GLT non turbo with mechanical fuel injection (CIS) i think it's a 2.3 L because thats what I was told.

2) knowing which engine i have, how do i get to the flame trap? it seems to be so far under my intake mantifold and very hard to get to, do i have to take the mantifold off? is it a difficult thing to clean or should i just replace it. I went to the local parts store and they told me I dont have a PCV valve or anything of the sort. I was kind of dazed by that and left without spending anything.

Thanks in advance.
