What is the best oil filter (protection) and or for the money for my 740 8 valve. Is the black and or is the white MANN OIL FILTER BETTER? 700

What is the best oil filter on the market besides Amsoil and or Mobil 1. I was considereing Mann, however they come in 2 colors black and white. Which one is the better of the 2? Other direct Mann sites (european) seem to have the black one. However fcpgroton carries the white one. Currently I am using Purolator Premium Plus (not the overly restrictive purolator pure one). I am using and have been using chevron 10W-30 SURPREME (spring,Fall) Chevron 15W-40 (DELO 400 SUMMER) Chevron 5W-30 SURPREME. Would you beleive that my flame trap did not even have any clogging after almost 18,000 miles on this car (1 of 3 88/89 740 gle wagons). This says a lot for Chevron. What say you! Please help! I have used amsoil and mobil 1 products in addition to Pennzoil and Chevron.
