B21F engine quits when turn signals are on- starts up when i honk horn 200 1976

ok. so i was driving around the other day and i put my turn signal on, and all of the sudden, my signals stopped working, my tachometer stopped working, and the "amp" (alternator) light turned on. 3 seconds later, the engine stops.

so I pulled over to the side of the road and I looked under the hood to see if something was wrong with the alternator belt, but I didn't see anything. so I got back in and bumped the horn, and all of the sudden, the dashboard lights (brake failure, parking brake, oil, bulb failure, and amp) come on as they usually do right before you start the car. I was able then to start the car. I put my turn signal on, and the same thing happened. the lights went out, i honked the horn, and they turned back on.

it's not the ignition switch; the seat belt warning thing works fine. I checked the fuses, and they are all good.

help please!!!!
