will the lisle strut tool #63400 work on 240s? 200

I've used that Lisle strut tool with mixed results. We used it on two 240s. The first one went fine. On the second, the strut nut came off ok on one side but, on the other side, the nut was so hard to move that the Lisle tool just shattered. Little pieces of metal flew all over. The store gave me a new tool. I borrowed an impact wrench and even that had a tough time loosening the nut. I didn't want to risk the Lisle tool on the second nut.

The tool isn't expensive, and it ma work fine for you. Just hope you don't get one of those really stuck strut nuts.

Question. I just re-read you message. If you want the whole strut assembly and are not replacing the insert, why don't you just unbolt the whole strut at top and bottom (un-bolt the ball joint mount) and take it out that way? Or am I missing something?
