83 245 Surging/Revving Problem.....Help 200 1983

Hello,

Today while driving my 83 245, I stopped at a traffic light. While I was sitting there, the engine started to rev up and down a little. At first, it was nothing really unusual, but then it started revving up to 2500rpm and then dropping down and almost stalling out. So, I started to drive off, and it seemed fine. But after a minute, the engine started surging. All of a sudden, nothing would happen, like it just died. But then it would suddenly come right back.

The car made it back home, though. Thankfully I was not far from home.

I have been having trouble with the connector at the fuel pump relay. It was pretty badly corroded and had slightly melted recently. I replaced the relay and cleaned up the connectors. I would not doubt if this was still a problem, but I have just not been able to replace the connector as of yet. However, I don't see how this would make the engine rev up and down like it was, but might explain the surging while driving...?

Any help would be great. Thanks to all....
