95 engine swap to 93 940 900

Oops for blank message and thanks for last night's comments.

Here's the real issue with 95 Bosch engine in 93 non-turbo Regina car. Every Volvo mechanic I've met, if given a choice, would pick Bosch over Regina engine/control system. I have opportunity to pull entire bosch system off wrecked 95 including the transmission for $150 more than just buying engine. Is it worth doing?? Bought 93 with only engine block under the hood and other engine parts in trunk. Previous owner tried to drive car 12-15 miles to his mechanic after left hand radiator tank was punchered; he drove it that far knowing temp guage pointed to the ceiling. Tranny oil without cooling had to get hot. Red paint on block is burnt bad and head warped. Oil in pan turned to sludge.

Checking FCP's web catalog indicates 95 fuel pump not shared with other model year and o2 sensor same for 94-95. Seems I would have to change at least these 2 items. Would pump and O2 sensor work with 93 wire harness and relays?? Another issue is EGR. 93 didn't have it. What do 2 rubber hoses connect to that have their top end fastened to 2 backflow valves (???) on top right of 94-95 engine. Keeping egr needs 95 wire harness and ecu. Is this worth doing?? I've got the time.

95 engine/tranny have 95k, 93 car has 125k. Same P&P has 94 engine with 74k but wants another $250 for lower mileage. 95 engine has different timing belt cover sticker (230FD?)and 94 just 230F What manufacturing differences exist between the 95 and 94 engines and why pick one over the other. 95 engine's compression is 185,185, 170,175 repectively. 94 engine in storage shed and have not checked compression though underside of oil filler cap is far cleaner than most. Have I missed anything if I make the switch?? Would 95 tranny work with 93 ecu if I convert 95 bosch engine to 93 Regina??

What have I overlooked?? Appreciate your opinions. Thanks Steve
